“Secret Life of the American Teenager” Renewed for a Fifth Season

Before it’s fourth season has even aired, ABC Family has renewed it’s hit show “The Secret Life of the American Teenager” for a fifth season.

We wonder if it’s because of all the attention it’s star, Shailene Woodley, has gotten because of her role in The Descendants? Either way, it’s good news for the cast and crew. The fourth season returns March 26 on ABC Family.

ABC Family has also given the greenlight to the half-hour comedy “Baby Daddy” starring Chelsea Kane and Tahj Mowry which revolves around a young man who becomes a father over night when a baby is left on his doorstep by an ex-girlfriend.

“We’re very proud of our deep bench of original content successfully built out over eight years of exceptional growth,” ABC Family president Michael Riley said in a statement. “This summer, we’re excited to continue to expand our content across key genres adding another season to our groundbreaking drama, Secret Life, wonderful comedy and a return to reality programming as we continue to innovate with our ABC Family brand.”
