The casting updates for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire are just rolling out this week!

In the latest casting news, “Blue Mountain State” and “Smallville” alum Alan Ritchson has landed the role of “Gloss.”

Gloss is a former Career tribute from District, who along with his sister Cashmere, are sent back into the games for the Quarter Quell. In more casting news, Patrick St. Esprit, star of TV’s “Sons of Anarchy,” has been cast as District 12 head Peacemaker Romulus Thread

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

The movie will release on November 22, 2013.

What do you think of this casting choice? Alan looks like he would have made a great Finnick as well! Now if only Lionsgate would give us the final confirmation on who will play that coveted character.

PS…did we mention that Alan once tried out for “American Idol” and used to be an underwear model?
