The 2012 American Music Awards are in full swing tonight featuring some of the biggest names in the music industry including performances from Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kelly Clarkson, PSY, Maroon 5 and more.

10:56 p.m. – The moment we’ve been waiting for! PSY takes over the AMA stage for a performance of ‘Gangnam Style’ featuring… wait for it, MC Hammer!? What an epic way to end this year’s awards!
10:51 p.m. – Justin Bieber wins Artist of the Year and brings his mom on stage in a totally unplanned moment. Very sweet.
10:14 p.m. – Justin wins again!
9:49 p.m. – Justin Bieber just left it all on the AMA stage during his performance of ‘As Long As You Love Me’ and ‘Beauty And A Beat’. P.S. Nicki Minaj did NOT change the ‘Selena’ lyric while performing BAAB — too hard to find another thing that rhymes with ether and wiener?
9:33 p.m. – Carly Rae Jepsen calls Pink “amazing” after her performance and then wins for New Artist of the Year! Gives shout out thanks to Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber and her boyfriend.
9:28 p.m. – Can’t believe Pink is going to do this live. This should be interesting! Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj also both performed, what did you think about their dramatic stage set ups? Very theatrical for both!
8:41 p.m. – Not sure dancing (or drumming) is Ke$sha’s thing, but we still really like this song. She should have performed the stripped down version!
8:33 p.m. -What’s that sound? Oh, that’s just Kelly Clarkson KILLING it with a medley of her hits including ‘Miss Independent’, ‘Since U Been Gone’ and ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’ and ‘Catch My Breath’ — she looks amazing too!
8:26 p.m. – The Wanted just wrapped up their performance. We’re looking forward to Justin and Taylor’s performances!
8:19 p.m. – Carly Rae Jepsen takes a page out of One Direction‘s playbook and dances around British telephone booths during her mash-up performance of ‘This Kiss’ and ‘Call Me Maybe’. We guess she technically sang about phones before ‘Take Me Home’…
8:16 p.m. – Taylor Swift wins for Favorite Female Country Artist and plugs her RED album and tour. “I guess what I’m trying to say is I’m really, really happy right now and that’s all because of you.”
8:09 p.m. – Justin Bieber just won for Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock and dedicates award to “the haters” — hold up, was there an empty seat next to Justin? Possibly reserved for Selena Gomez?
8:00 p.m. – Usher! Is that an ‘Uptown Girl’ Billy Joel remix we hear?
7:55 p.m. – Taylor Swift is stunning in a sparkly gold dress. We’ve seen this look from her a zillion times before, but it works for her!
