A new Spider-Man movie, starring Zac Efron or Taylor Lautner? It could happen.
For the past few weeks there were rumors swirling that Spider-Man 4 was in trouble, apparently because Sony and director Sam Raimi couldn’t agree on a story. It got to the point where the studio removed it from its May 2011 release date — and now it turns out that it won’t be made at all.
However, a new Spider-Man movie will come out in Summer 2012 — it just won’t be directed by Raimi or star any of the same cast, including Tobey Maguire. Instead of making Spider-Man 4, they’re rebooting the entire series. From the press release:
Peter Parker is going back to high school when the next Spider-Man hits theaters in the summer of 2012. Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced today they are moving forward with a film based on a script by James Vanderbilt that focuses on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.
This means a much younger actor is soon going to get the opportunity to put on the tights and play Spider-Man. Who should it be? Sure, I mentioned Zac Efron and Taylor Lautner above, but what about Josh Hutcherson? Aaron Johnson? Jesse McCartney? And what about Mary Jane?

Never thought of him! Totally agree, Logan Lerman would be PERFECT if they are going to go younger. I always thought that Tobey was a little TOO nerdy and did not have the charisma, sarcasm or wit to play Spiderman. If you are a comic book fan, true that Peter Parker is slightly nerdy, but you also have to believe that when he becomes Spiderman, he can be a smart-ass too. Tobey just didn’t portray that at all for me.

Spiderman isn’t suppose to be nerdy. He’s suppose to be sarcastic & funny. The movies potrayed him wrongly. I hope the new one potrays him correctly. And, Zac n Tay defnitely don nt fit the role.
