The star-studded American Music Awards take place this Sunday, but before then, it’s all about the Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! Digital Pre-Show!
The LIVE stream will begin on Sunday, November 24 at 2 p.m. PST / 5 p.m. EST online at www.TheAMAs.com, Yahoo.com, and ABC.com and will bring three hours of entertaining celebrity interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes content hosted by Lance Bass, Jordin Sparks, Zendaya, Jenna Ushkowitz, Rosie Pierri, Colbie Caillat and Jake Owen. Additionally, the pre-show will include a never-before-seen dance performance by Jabbawockeez and additional live performances from Jesse McCartney, Fifth Harmony and Aloe Blacc.
Oh wait, that’s not all! Our friend Kurt Hugo Schneider will debut the official soundtrack of the red carpet at the pre-show which he produced via a six week co-creation process with teens online. We had the chance to chat with Kurt about making the track via The Coca-Cola AHH Studio digital experience. Each week, teens across the country were able to listen to three different musical options and choose the one they liked best. After six weeks and six opportunities for fans to weigh in, Kurt used all of the elements chosen by fans to create the official soundtrack. Fans can tune in to the pre-show for all of the action live from the red carpet as the Coca-Cola AHH Studio digital experience program culminates with Kurt’s performance of the official track.
-You’re doing something so cool for the American Music Awards pre-show that you’ve been working on for weeks now. What has that process been like?
This is a different approach to making music for me. The Coca-Cola AHH Studio digital experience gave fans the chance to listen to and select their favorite instrumental segments that I created over a six week timeframe. I am compiling the most popular musical elements now to create the Coca-Cola track. I am enjoying the challenge, and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes out.
If you logon to www.theamas.com to watch the Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! Digital Pre-Show at 2 p.m. PST / 5 p.m. EST live on Nov. 24, you will see me perform the song!
-Getting suggestions from fans must be so fun. How has that influenced the soundtrack you’re coming up with? It is fun! The fan choices have really set the tone for the track. I am taking their selections and putting them together as we speak. If you weighed in, you’re definitely in for a treat on Nov. 24!
-When you first started producing and putting videos on Youtube, did you ever imagine you’d be at the AMAs one day? No, no way! I starting putting videos up on YouTube in 2007. There was no plan – I just enjoyed the music and creating videos. It’s been a great adventure.
-What is your favorite thing about the songwriting/creation process? Is it harder to write original music or to figure out different ways to do popular songs like your famous covers? Each has it challenges. Creating videos is really about creating visuals that showcase performers, fit with the lyrics and the song, and are overall visually exciting to the viewer. Writing original music is about creating a song that is wonderful to listen to. I really enjoy them both.
-On the day of the AMAs, what can viewers expect with the pre-show? I’m going to be there, with a small band, and we are going to have fun performing the soundtrack. It is going to be a good time!
-Is there anyone you’re hoping to meet or bump into at the AMAs? I have a ton of respect for so many of the artists that are going to be there. I would really like to say hello to Bruno Mars, Macklemore or Ryan Lewis. Fingers crossed!
-Who would be your dream collaboration? One of my favorite videos on my channel is the Maroon 5 Medley. I’d like to do a video like that with the group. The Maroon 5 Medley with the Maroon 5.
-Any message for your fans? Keep doing what you love. Keep working at it, getting better and better. Keep working at your dream of doing what you love to do.
Be sure to tune in for the AMA pre-show and the AMAs this Sunday on ABC!00Post a Comment
