Add one more movie to Zac Efron’s crowded list of upcoming films. Warner Bros. has hired a writer for Art of the Steal, a con-artist movie that Zac is attached to and hopes to shoot sometime next year.
The movie, based on a true magazine article, would cast Zac as a “con man who plans and executes a series of elaborate heists, all while leading a double life as an upstanding citizen,” according to Variety.
Immediately next up for Zac, however, is The Lucky One, an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel.

Taylor Schilling, best known for starring in last year’s hospital show Mercy, has been cast as the female lead in The Lucky One, the new Nicholas Sparks adaptation starring Zac Efron.
It’s unclear just how big her part will be; the majority of the film stars Efron as an Iraq War veteran who returns home and searches for a mysterious woman in a photograph — that’s Taylor — which brought him good luck while he was overseas.
If you think she looks a bit older than Zac, you’d be right; he’s twenty-two and she’s twenty-six.

Zac Efron gets his model on for the September issue of Details magazine. He’s wearing a variety of looks, lots of edgier outfits – plaid shirts and motorcycle jackets. Of course, what everyone really wants is the scoop on what he had to say inside the magazine’s pages.

Vanessa Hudgens successfully completed her three performances in Rent at the Hollywood Bowl over the weekend — at one point, with a little help from her real-life boyfriend.
Early in the show, when Vanessa’s character, Mimi, is performing a dance at a strip club, she was standing on a catwalk inches away from the audience — and Zac Efron reached out of the crowd to give her a $20 “tip” for the performance.
I’m pretty sure Zac and Vanessa are the only couple who could make that seem cute, but they did. Here’s a blurry video.

Will Ferrell’s new comedy The Other Guys won the box office this weekend, but a bunch of other choices for teens also appeared in the top ten.
Step Up 3D opened in third place this weekend with $15 million. That’s pretty good, although it is the lowest of the series so far; the first Step Up four years ago made over $20 million.
Meanwhile, Zac Efron’s Charlie St. Cloud dropped to eighth place with $5 million. The movie is doing similarly, but better, to Robert Pattinson’s romantic drama Remember Me from earlier this year.

Zac Efron covers this year’s September issue of Details magazine, his second time after a 2008 cover. While the photo looks good, it’s a good thing it wasn’t taken at the time of the accompanying interview — in which his body was covered with poison oak. Ick.

It seems that Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron have officially grown-up and totally changed their looks. Gone are the days of Cyrus’ skinny jeans and the HSM basketball jersey has melted off Efron. And we mean that literally, because the fashions of these stars’ wax figures at Madame Tussauds are getting re-done in a more adult way.

Some of Hollywood’s brightest young stars have joined the fight against cancer with a new public service announcement for Stand Up 2 Cancer.
