Vanessa Hudgens didn’t attend the Oscars with her boyfriend Zac Efron — one of this year’s presenters — but she did meet up with him later in the evening to attend Vanity Fair’s official after-party.  Speaking to Access Hollywood on the party’s red carpet, she said of someday winning an Oscar:

One can only hope. The important thing is people doing what they are truly passionate about and putting their heart and soul into it. Once you have that, people acknowledge that and hopefully ends you up on that stage.

One of her upcoming roles, for the movie Sucker Punch, doesn’t sound like an Oscar role but she’s excited about it nonetheless:

It’s coming out next year and I’m really excited about it. Everyone is finally going to see me kick some butt.

But the fellas weren’t ignored out at the Oscars either–plenty of guys had their best faces forward for the show too.

The annual Academy Award ceremony is tonight, and as we speak stars are being fit into designer suits and dresses that are either really pretty or really strange.

Guest presenters this year include a decidedly young array of stars, including Zac Efron, Miley Cyrus, and all three Twilight stars: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

Speaking of Twilight, co-star Anna Kendrick is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in Up in the Air.  Does she have a chance to beat Mo’Nique, the favorite for her role in Precious?  And will Sandra Bullock from The Blind Side win Best Actress over Meryl Streep from Julie & Julia?

Zac Efron graduated from High School Musical and now’s he making some big time movie deals!

It’s obvious that Zac is taking his future in the movie business to a whole new level. He just signed a first look deal with Warner Brothers that will be good for two years.

This essentially means that Zac will have the opportunity to choose and develop his own projects through a new production company, but he’ll have the backing of one of the biggest studios in Hollywood to get the work done.Apparently the first film project Zac is set to work with Warner on is a “Back to the Future-like comedy.”

Zac Efron and Miley Cyrus have both been tapped to become presenters at the upcoming Oscars, which will be held Sunday, March 7th.

They join Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart as the major young stars to appear on the show.  A pretty impressive line-up, actually.

It’s summertime in Sydney, Australia – but that’s not the only reason Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are hanging out in the land down under.

It goes without saying that Australia is amazing at this time of year – just when we’re covered in rain and snow here in the states, is summertime in Sydney. But despite the lure of the amazing weather conditions, ZANESSA is visiting the Aussie city for another reason. The duo is in town to promote the Oakley into Summer Campaign.

We just got word that Disney is putting a whole lotta effort into creating a new teen comedy film, in hopes that its success mirrors its record-breaking High School Musical series. The non-musical movie is reportedly called Prom and will follow 9 lead roles throughout the high school storyline. And they’re looking for newbies, just like Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale were before High School Musical made them big.

Warner Bros. has just given Zac Efron a first-look deal good for two years.

What that means is that Zac will have the freedom to choose and develop his own movies through a new production company that will work closely with the studio.  The first movie made by the company will be the untitled “Back to the Future-like comedy” we reported on earlier.

Zac’s also got the drama Charlie St. Cloud coming out later this year and a spy thriller called Fire that hasn’t filmed yet.

Deadline Hollywood reports that he’s the youngest-ever actor (at 22) to receive this kind of a deal.  Nicely done, Zac!

Ever since Sony announced they were rebooting the Spider-Man series and going with a younger actor to play the superhero, a handful of names have been tossed around as potential candidates: Percy Jackson’s Logan Lerman, Wizards of Waverly Place’s David Henrie, and Zac Efron, to name a few.

The first two have already publicly said they’d like to be considered for the role — and now Zac has, too.  After being asked about it on a recent radio show, he said:

To be honest that would be a dream come true. I haven’t heard anything but of course any young actor would love to fill those shoes — and they are big shoes to fill.

Now normally when a star gets a question like that he tries to dodge it: “I’d be open to talking about it,” “I have a lot of respect for those movies,” etc.  But to say getting cast would be a “dream come true” is pretty clear: Zac is gunning for the part.  You think he’d do well?

So today were talking about the next generation of Disney stars.  I mean, have you ever thought, who’s going to replace the Mileys, Selenas, Efrons and Jonases of the entertainment world?  Well, if you have wondered, we’ve got the answer.

The Disney Channel is hoping that a few new youngsters will be the next overnight stars.  First up, Hutch Dano and Adam Hicks.  They’re set to star in the XD series Zeke and Luther.  Dano’s already been on The Suite Life on Deck and the DC Original Movie Den Brother, while Hicks is up to par on his comedic timing and rap skills apparently, a great fit for the new show.
