E! News is reporting that Garrett, the “tall, nomadic vampire with sandy hair” who’s good friends with Edward in the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, has nearly been cast.
The front runner: Lee Pace. Best known for the TV show Pushing Daisies, he’s appeared in the movies Marmaduke, The Fall, and When in Rome. He’s also a good-looking guy and looks like he could play the down-to-earth Garrett rather nicely. But what do you think?

Are you the ultimate Twilight fan? A new game puts it to the test! The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Movie Game for the iPhone puts your film knowledge to the test and it’s pretty cool, because you can play with a big group of people by selecting 1 of 21 characters and then picking 5, 10 or 20 questions… or you can also play solo with endless Qs until you get 3 wrong – that equals the end of your Twilight character life.

In one of her Twilight fansite interviews (via Twilight Examiner), Stephenie Meyer reveals that the scene in Eclipse in which Edward loses his cool at Jacob outside of Bella’s house isn’t at all how she imagined it:
That’s the one I walked out on, on the dailies, because in my head that scene was so much different. In the movie Edward is quite separate motivationally from the book Edward. At this point in the film in the story, for me, he’s gotten past this. Like he’s realized “I can’t act like a teenage boy anymore. I have to give her space. I have to be the mature one here.” And in that scene in the book, he has, icy calm control. He is very gentle. He is very soft spoken. He is very mature…They had already filmed that day, so we couldn’t redo it. But people have responded really well to it.

Now that it’s been established that neither part of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be rated R, there’s still the little issue of how the birth scene — pretty gory in the book — will be portrayed. Producer Wyck Godfrey explained what the current plan was to FEARnet:
I think the one thing that we’ve done that we’ve really done in all the films is keep them very subjective and keep them from Bella’s point of view. So the conversations we’ve had with Bill [Condon], is that we’ll try to do something similar here; you’re with Bella’s perspective and her point of view of what’s taking place in the rush around her, as she’s in intense pain. Not so focused, objectively, on her body and his body and that. So I think it’ll be something like that, in terms of trying to make the audience experience and feel the confusion, almost, of what’s happening to her.

It’s being rumored that Robsten is done for good. It’s been awhile since this sort of gossip has circulated, as Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have been a seemingly happy couple. But now it’s being said that it was a bunch of reasons that ultimately led Pattinson to call it quits.

This past Thursday, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse surpassed $250 million at the U.S. box office, and by the end of the weekend its worldwide total will be over $500 million. That’s half of a billion dollars.
That’s about on a par with what The Twilight Saga: New Moon had done at this point; New Moon ultimately grossed $709 million worldwide.

So here’s a little tidbit about what you won’t see November 2011 when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn comes out. According to the powers that be behind the franchise, the final film will not be rated R! Of course this is great news for lots of fans who wouldn’t be able to see it otherwise, but what does this mean for what we will and won’t see in the film?

Dakota Fanning nabs another magazine cover. This time the Twilight Saga star is the cover girl for the August issue of Flare Magazine. Dakota looks gorgeous as usual in the various photos and we love how open and honest the high school-aged actress is when it comes to the interview portion.
