It’s so hard to keep track of who’s BFF with who these days.  Let’s see: Taylor Lautner knows Taylor Swift because they play a couple in the movie Valentine’s Day.  And Taylor Swift is friends with Selena Gomez — who is friendly with Miley Cyrus and maybe went out with Taylor Lautner.  And that’s just four — I didn’t rope in Demi Lovato, or the Jonases, or the other Twilighters.  I might have to start taking notes.

Anyway, two of our favorite teen stars, Taylor Swift and Selena, went out in L.A. this past weekend.  But true to their image, it was nothing scandalous: just some Italian food and then a frozen yogurt bar.  Yum!

Both are still teenagers.  Both are huge stars.  Both are getting more and more movie roles.  So while it could make sense that Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus are “rivals,” as has been rumored, the apparent truth is that they get along just fine — when they do see each other.

In an interview with British OK!, Selena was asked about Miley:

You’ve worked with Miley Cyrus on Hannah Montana…

Miley’s a sweetheart, she’s so sweet.  We’re both Southern girls, so we talk about food and home.

Are you and Miley good friends?

Well we don’t really talk every day or anything like that.  She’s a very busy girl.

Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato may have grown up together in Texas, but with different acting gigs and both debuting their own cds, Demi and Selena have kinda grown apart. But then Selena moved on and befriended Miley Cyrus, following in her path by launching a clothing line, even being called at one point, the next Miley.

Selena’s trip to Africa, however, may have put a wedge between the two that Demi stepped in to fill, and this has resulted in plenty of drama.

It seems like so many teenagers are getting really famous, really fast — Miley Cyrus is sixteen, Selena Gomez is seventeen, and Justin Bieber is only fifteen, to name a few — that J-14 asks the inevitable question: are teen stars being forced to grow up too fast?

Selena, for example, is starting a fashion line and has been to Africa as a UNICEF ambassador.  Miley Cyrus has had to deal with all sorts of minor photo scandals.  Gossip Girl’s Taylor Momsen, also only sixteen, stars in a show about college students with actors who are all at least five years older than she is.  And they all have to deal with constant paparazzi.

I guess the most interesting part is thinking how you would react.  Would you be able to handle stardom as well as these teens?  The red carpets, the lights and cameras, the nonstop work, and all the interviews about your personal life?  I imagine it’s scary and exciting at the same time.

Selena Gomez has just joined a movie called What Boys Want!  It’s a teen comedy in which she plays a girl who can hear what guys are thinking.

Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey, will be one of the executive producers.  New Line Cinema will produce the film, presumably as soon as Selena can find some time free in her very busy schedule.

She hasn’t had much time to be in movies with Wizards of Waverly Place, but she did appear in Another Cinderella Story, she voiced one of the characters in Horton Hears a Who, and she’s starring in Ramona and Beezus, which comes out in 2010.

She’s an actress, a singer, and even a UNICEF ambassador.  So it’s not too surprising that Selena Gomez is also unveiling a new fashion line.

Called “Dream Out Loud,” the clothes are eco-friendly and a little bit of everything: dresses, skirts, jeans, tops, jackets, and more.

“Growing up in Texas, I was sort of close-minded and kind of a tomboy, but as I’ve traveled, I found such a love of clothes,” Selena says. “It’s really always been a dream of mine to have a line.”

Unfortunately, the clothes aren’t set to come out until Fall 2010, so it’ll be awhile before you’ll be able to get them for your shelves.

Gomez is guilty as charged.  During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, the teen gushed about her favorite movie treat and how you just can’t get it in Los Angeles.

Selena said that she dearly misses buying a pickle at the theatres in Texas, and she further explained how it’s best to eat it together with popcorn for the perfect mix of salty and sour.

But the 17-year-old didn’t stop the snack discussion there.  She continued to discuss how SoCal movie managers think she’s nuts for asking to purchase a pickle, so now she simply brings her own in a paper bag and only then can Selena fully enjoy her  movie going experience.

You’d think that superstar actress-singer Selena Gomez would have lines of young suitors vying for her affections. Well, according to S-G herself, the guys usually hit on her mom first!  In one of the new “Under Pressure” webisodes Selena is doing to take fans behind the scenes for the release and promotion of her album, we get an insidelook at the photo shoot for the CD cover. She was rocking out to music and joking around with her hairstylist, when she said: 

” She’s single, cuz she likes to mingle. No, uh uh. I’m single, because my MOM gets hit on before me!” 

Her hairstylist confirms the statement saying, “This is true, we have seen it happen in real life!”

Now we at ClevverTV bet that lots of great guys are interested in Selena…and don’t forget guys, ‘like mother like daughter’ means that in 20 years, she’ll still be as hot as her gorgeous Momma!
