According to Deadline Hollywood, the Disney Channel’s hit show Wizards of Waverly Place was just renewed for a fourth season! Selena Gomez and the rest of the gang are all expected to return, and filming starts in August.
Not only that, but there will be a sequel to Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie, which was watched by 11.4 million people last year (second only to High School Musical 2’s record 17 million).
Selena Gomez just appeared in a photo shoot and profile for London’s Daily Mail newspaper, where she discussed her efforts to stay down-to-earth in the midst of all her fame:
She admits she’s single at the moment (and where would she find the time?). “But my ideal would be to not be known for who I’m dating, because eventually that’s all you will be known for,” she says shrewdly. “It’s hard, because people are curious about who’s in my life, but I want to be known for my work. And I never want to view myself as any different or any better than anyone else. If I wanna go eat at a little restaurant that isn’t fancy, I’ll do it. If I wanna go without make-up and not care what I look like, I will.”
We reported a few months back that when Selena went into the studio to maybe record a new song, the music was flowing so easily that she ended up with a whole new album. Obviously the fans couldn’t be happier. And now we’re getting word that ‘Round and Round,’ will play for the first time on Radio Disney on June 18th, and it will get some airplay on the Disney channel a few days later. And guess what else? There will also be brand new spankin’ music video, which is apparently – get this – being shot this weekend in Budapest…talk about cool, right?
Selena Gomez has Ramona and Beezus coming out this summer, but after that she’ll segue into the slightly-more-grown-up Monte Carlo, about three young women on an adventure in the European city of the title. JustJared posted this pic of the film’s three stars — Selena, Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester, and A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Katie Cassidy:
The movie also stars Glee’s Cory Monteith and opens in 2011.
So a sweet on-the-set video for the upcoming Ramona and Beezus movie got posted on the film’s official Facebook page. It’s hosted by one of the film’s stars, Selena Gomez, who introduces a bit of the film plot – as the big sister – and shows what it’s like getting makeup, mic-ed, rehearsals as well as all of the camera angles, shots and crew stuff.
Demi Lovato’s got a lot going on lately — she’s about to embark on a Camp Rock: The Final Jam tour with the Jonas Brothers, is dating Joe, and just appeared on Grey’s Anatomy. So it’s no surprise that she graces this month’s cover of Girl’s Life magazine.
In her interview, according to JustJaredJr., when asked about her once-tight, now-ended friendship with Selena Gomez, she has some sharp words:
We’re both busy, and I wish the best for her. True friends don’t let their friends or family be mean to you. If you can’t trust somebody, you can’t be friends with them.
Ouch. She’s a lot nicer regarding Miley Cyrus, calling her “the sweetest thing in the world.”
So the latest from the SG camp – thanks to Selena’s Facebook page – is that she’s busy in Budapest filming Monte Carlo among learning to play polo and working on the British accent. But there is much more going on, watch the video for all the details.
Selena Gomez posted a quick Facebook message to her fans today updating them on her new movie Monte Carlo as well as a personal accomplishment:
What are the odds……Today I graduated from high school and got my diploma!!!!! I also filmed my graduation ceremony in the upcoming movie Monte Carlo. So in a weird way I was able to experience an official graduation, LOL. How is everyone doing? What are your plans for the summer? Miss you all and I will update again soon.
Selena Gomez recently spoke out about her singlehood and she seemed to have only good things to say about it. The actress-singer said that she’s happy to be flying solo because it allows her time to focus on what’s important to her.
