zac-efron-details-magazineAdd one more movie to Zac Efron’s crowded list of upcoming films.  Warner Bros. has hired a writer for Art of the Steal, a con-artist movie that Zac is attached to and hopes to shoot sometime next year.

The movie, based on a true magazine article, would cast Zac as a “con man who plans and executes a series of elaborate heists, all while leading a double life as an upstanding citizen,” according to Variety.

Immediately next up for Zac, however, is The Lucky One, an adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel.

Emma Roberts Talks ‘The Winning Season’

31. August 2010

valentines-day-emma-roberts-2In an interview with Coming Soon, Emma Roberts talks about her new basketball-themed movie The Winning Season and her character’s storyline in it:

What was it about this that made you want to do it?

I thought the script was really cool, and it was a movie that had basketball in it, but it’s not like a basketball movie. It’s about so much more than that. I met [director Jim Strouse] and I really liked him, I thought he was a cool guy, and Sam [Rockwell] was attached to do it, and I’ve known Sam for a very, very long time, and I definitely wanted to work with him. It just seemed like it would be a really great project. [...]

Most movies like this would be about Sam’s character but your character also has an interesting arc with her boyfriend.

Yeah, I think he’s a popular boy that everyone wants, and she goes out with him and realizes that he’s just a loser and not really that cool.

The Juicy Details of Miley Cyrus’s New Movie ‘LOL’

30. August 2010

ashley-greene-miley-cyrus-lolMiley Cyrus is currently filming LOL: Laughing Out Loud with Ashley Greene, and so far all we’ve really heard is that Miley plays a troubled teen.  How troubled?  More than we thought.  JSYK got a hold of the screenplay and lets us in on some details:

After the script for LOL: Laughing Out Loud leaked this week, it was revealed that Miley’s character loses her virginity, smokes marijuana, locks lips with another girl, gets drunk and ends up showing her mom one of her, um, private parts.

The movie will likely raise a few eyebrows, since it’ll come out right around when Hannah Montana will end.  With this and Can’t Be Tamed, is Miley trying to be too edgy, or is she entitled to go as far as she wants?

Rumor: Robert Pattinson to Join Angelina Jolie Movie?

30. August 2010

robert-pattinson-1Robert Pattinson may possibly join a new movie called Unforgiven, which is being developed to star Angelina Jolie.

The movie follows a woman who gets out of prison after fifteen years for the accidental murder of two policemen.  Hoping to live in peace, she instead becomes the target of a revenge campaign by the policemen’s sons.  Rob would play one of those sons.

It’d be very cool to see him in a dark, non-romantic part for a change, but don’t count on it just yet.  As evidence, LaineyGossip reveals that Rob had dinner with Jolie’s lawyer late last year and recently saw Salt with his agent, but GossipCop reports that a “Pattinson insider” told them the news is “inaccurate.”

Do you think Rob should do the movie?

Melissa Rosenberg: Breaking Dawn Screenplays are ‘80%’ Complete

30. August 2010

breaking-dawn-coverMTV talked to Twilight Saga screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg at the Emmys last night, who revealed she was roughly 80% with the screenplays, saying:

They’re coming along. I just flew in last night from working with Bill Condon, prepping the scripts. They’re a lot of work. But we’re intent on making them the best scripts yet. … 80%? It’s hard to say because there’s still more to go, but I hope…maybe 75? (laughs)

She also revealed that the sequence she’s having the most trouble with is the climactic battle:

The final battle sequence is a big challenge. Because it lasts twenty-five pages. It’s an entire three-act story in and of itself. So you have to really track [it, and] you have to keep it interesting, [since] it’s all one setting and it’s hundreds of characters. So it’s an enormous challenge to choreograph that on the page, and for Bill to choreograph that on the stage. … I’ve written a couple of drafts of it, but Bill and I haven’t actually gotten into it. That’s the next big hurdle. We’re going to sit down with the stunt coordinator and, you know, create the ballet.
