Ashley Tisdale’s next big movie role has her singing in the upcoming musical called Teen Witch.

If you haven’t heard of the original, this was a uber popular teen flick in the 80s all about a shy high schooler who finds out she’s related to the Salem witches and the she obviously uses her newly discovered powers to become popular and score that high school hottie. Tisdale actually confirmed that the Teen Witch script has been totally reworked to include musical breaks as well as be totally current in its storyline.

It was revealed a few months ago that High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale would be starring in a remake of the ’80s teen hit Teen Witch.  But she recently revealed to Hollywood Life that the new version will be much more music-oriented:

In the original, you know, Robin Lively didn’t sing at all, even though other girls performed. But the studio said ‘Hey, you’re a singer, right?’  They reworked the script so it can be more of a musical. … I’m really excited about it. I think it’s going to be so much fun!  Fans of the original will love it I think, and as far as it being different, I can tell you it will be a lot more current.

The movie follows a shy teenage girl who discovers she’s a witch and uses her new powers to become popular and get the guy she likes.

We just got word that Disney is putting a whole lotta effort into creating a new teen comedy film, in hopes that its success mirrors its record-breaking High School Musical series. The non-musical movie is reportedly called Prom and will follow 9 lead roles throughout the high school storyline. And they’re looking for newbies, just like Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale were before High School Musical made them big.

Who’s the Mickey Mouser who’s now all grown up?

Well, it’s Vanessa Hudgens and she just celebrated her 21st birthday! Not only did she get spotted at the gym with her beau, Zac Efron and hit up some business meetings for her pre-special day, but Vanessa went all out and all legal. She hit up Hollywood hotspot, East, alongside Zac. A bunch of friends were waiting inside the club, as she arrived in her mostly black ensemble. Some VIPs on the guest list reportedly included Selena Gomez and Jennifer Stone, Monique Coleman, Chris Warren Jr as well as Ashley Tisdale and her boytoy Scott Speer. The party went well into the late hours, even though the 21st birthday of Hudgens definitely did not fall on the weekend.

As we creep closer to awards season, the awards and the parties will pick up. Now, the real Golden Globes awards show is set for January 2010, but the Hollywood Foreign Press Association – that’s the group who determines the trophy winners – put on a pre-celebration.

Let’s just say this year’s GG Party had a whole bunch of Hollywood’s best. Who was there? Well, let’s start off with a little Ashley Tisdale, Brittany Snow, Victoria Justice and Jessica Stroup. Plus, we can throw into the mix Anna Maria Perez de Tagle, Anna Kendrick and Kellan Lutz. There was definitely a little more vampire action as well with Ian Somerhalder, Katerina Graham, Nina Dobrev, Alexander Skarsgard and Candice Accola.

The holiday season is here and so is a present for you!  It’s called ‘A Very Special Christmas’ Volume 7, and it’s a philanthropy set to benefit the Special Olympics.

Basically, this album features younger, more hip versions of classic Christmas songs, and some artists included on this latest edition of ‘A Very Special Christmas’ are Mitchel Musso, Ashley Tisdale, Miley Cyrus, Kristinia DeBarge, the Carter twins and Vanessa Hudgens is set with ‘Winter Wonderland’.

And it’s not just about the Disney love, we’ve also got:This is a major musical happening with previous volumes featuring artists like Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Run DMC, Sting, Sheryl Crow and Gwen Stefani. Stevie Wonder, Tom Petty, Bon Jovi are just a few more to have gotten into the holiday spirit early on.

That’s right.  You’re probably wondering why it’s nearly impossible to find any pics of the Tiz in her ‘Alice in Wonderland’ costume from October 31st.  Well that’s because she celebrates Halloween on the night of November 11th.

Yes, you heard correctly!  Ashley is all set to throw a Halloween party in New York City.  The invite appropriately states: “So we’re a little late.  What can we say?  We’re very Hollywood.”

In her own style, Tisdale will be signing her new cd for fans and she does expect costumes from guests.  There will also reportedly be a red carpet, prize giveaways for best costume, biggest fan and more.

Is it just me, or does it seem like Zac Efron fell of the face of the planet for a while there? The fact of the matter is that the HSM hottie has been shooting a movie in Vancouver for quite sometime. His famous GF, Vanessa, is still in the northern city shooting a different movie. But Zac is back in town and already back to his normal routine. 

So what were his first stops after landing in LA? First up was a gym trip, and second was a lunch date with gal pal Ashley Tisdale. The Tiz was super excited to see her longtime friend and tweeted: “Eating lunch with my zachary!!! Wishin nessa was here! Its been too long.”
