Stars Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale, plus exec-producer Tom Welling (from Smallville), talk about the making of the CW’s new cheerleading show Hellcats in this new featurette:

We’re getting a look at Aly Michalka and Ashley Tisdale in a new trailer for the upcoming CW series Hellcats.  The show is set to air Wednesday, September 8th at 9PM Eastern & Pacific.

If there was ever any doubt that cheerleading was a tough sport, just listen to Aly Michalka.  The star of the CW’s new series Hellcats (along with Ashley Tisdale) recently spoke to JustJaredJr. about an injury she received shooting the very first episode:

For the pilot, I actually twisted my ankle really bad. I’m fine now, but for a month I was icing my ankle and wrapping it every which way. In the dance section where Marti auditions or tries out for the team, I was actually wearing a wrap underneath my cargo pants. I just hurt my ankle like four days earlier so I conserved my energy and just decided to go out there and kill it. But that was a tough week.

Here’s hoping it was an isolated incident!

At a recent panel discussion for Hellcats, the new CW cheerleading show featuring Ashley Tisdale and Aly Michalka, Ashley discussed how her character Savannah is different than her famous former role:

Savannah is a lot less selfish than Sharpay.  She’s the team captain, she’s a team player. She’s been in her own little bubble that Marti (Aly) pulls her out of; she’s naive, she’s Christian, the pair of them grow together.

Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee and a producer on Hellcats, said that Ashley had the acting range to easily win her role: “With Ashley, I laughed my ass off and wanted to get up and hug her at the same time; she can hold multiple colors in the same palatte.”

Here’s an amusing new ad for Hellcats, the new Aly Michalka/Ashley Tisdale cheerleading show that’s debuting on the CW this fall:

Miley Cyrus’ older brother Trace Cyrus is not a fan of one of her longtime pals, Ashley Tisdale. The former Metro Station member took to Twitter to talk about just how much he dislikes her and it was pretty intense.

And now for the good news…new shoe Life Unexpected and CW-favorite One Tree Hill have been renewed, along with, no surprise, Vampire Diaries and 90210.
